How to delete multiple e-mails on iPhone?
I just got a new 3G iPhone. It is linked to my office POP3 e-mail server. I get quite a few messages every day. I really need to have a way to delete multiple messages at a time. Right now, it seems like I have to delete 1 message at a time. This is very tedious. Can someone tell me if it is possible to "mass delete" e-mails on an iPhone (i.e., highlight somehow and delete multiple messages at a time rather than one at a time?)

Okay... the issue is that with 100 e-mails, even taking the time to click all of the items and then doing the mass delete is a pain. I was hoping there was some feature that enabled you to select many e-mails at a time instead of selecting each one for deletion. Perhaps a third party will create such a product. I guess I'm spoiled by my old Blackberry that had a "delete all e-mails prior" option as well as the ability to hold a key and select multiple e-mails quickly and then hit delete. The iPhone overall is a much better product so I won't go back. But I was hoping for an easier mass-delete.

Thank you both for taking the time to respond to my question and s gepner so quickly. It looks like the easy multiple delete feature just isn't available right now. Maybe in a future release or 3rd party vendors.
Also, I have found that IMAP works very well with our corporate mailbox, and I am getting all my folders, calendar, etc. now.. you might try this instead of using the POP account..
Thanks, s gepner!
