Very slow backup on Tandberg 200/400 drive with Backup Exec 10
We recently installed a Tandberg 200/400 tape drive on a Windows 2000 SBS server. The customer had previously had an old 20/40 drive they had been using and already had Veritas Backup Exec 10.0 (not 10d) installed on the server.
Backups are taking forever to complete. For around 50GB of data it takes nearly 18 - 20 hours to complete. The transfer rate showed it was around 80MB/s. It seems to hang up on verifying for a very long time but it will eventually finish.
Anyone have any ideas??

First think I would check is duplex and speed on the switch and the nic. Of both servers.
Either way, does that hardware have the most recent firmware and software updates? Any errors in the backup log?
Any updates?

No objection. Thanks for the update.
If it, too, is slow, I would suspect the hardware.
