How do I figure out if my HP Proliant has the built in hypervisor software and how do I install VMWare?

I am new to virtualization and VMWare. I inherited a network that was extremely poorly managed, which includes an almost new HP Proliant DL380 G5 (dual quad core 1.6, 10GB ram). The other IT guy who purchased this server tells me that the Proliant has the ESXi VMware hypervisor built in already. How do I verify this? We have 7 VM's running already with the free version of VMWare, which means the server boots into Windows Server 2003 to then start the VM services. Nothing jumps out at me when looking through the HP System Management tool, and nothing in the device manager leads me to believe it's there either.

And if the server does in fact have the chip built in, how do I boot my existing 7 VM's directly from the ESX chip and not boot into Windows first?
