Word 2007 outline view produces random gray underlines when top-level tiers are collapsed

In outline view, when I collapse the top-level tiers, a random gray underline appears (example picture attached).  This is not a grammar/spelling blue/red wavy line thing -- it is a gray straight underline that doesn't directly correspond to a word or sentence length (as far as I can tell).  Indeed, at first I though it was a screen artifact, and I just tried scrolling/refreshing it away - but no luck.

Any insights?

I get the same thing on multiple user computers using Office 2007.  I think it is an undocumented Microsoft *FEATURE* (bug).  It does not appears in the printout.  I opened a call with Microsoft and ended out getting a refund becaue that was the conclusion that resulted form the call.

Sweet.  I am glad I not only got the refund from MS, but the answer from EE.   Thanks!
