Sorry, I don't really get what you're trying to do.... where does yahoo come into the picture? Do you want your server to pick up several users' mail from yahoo and put in their local mailboxes? Why? I thought you wanted your users to get mail directly to your domain, to their own usernames, using your own mail server. What IS your present setup like?

My question heading is yahoo e-mail server+ ...:) ok No probs you dont understand my question...now iam getting directly from yahoo mail server to our local network using outlook/evolution/thuderbi rd... mail clients and also configured the spam filter and junk mails settings and send/receive working properly.
Now our management wants to install/configure the Local mail server and receive all the emails to local and create the whitelist of required email addresses and domains and block all othe personel mails....like g-mail,yahoo,hotmail...etc
Conclusion is block the personel emails and configure the whitelist of customers email id only...

OK, you (your users) POP mail from Yahoo accounts to their clients and now you would like to set up a local mail server for your users >> my first comment is then valid for the general situation....
As for generating whitelists and other mail control rules, you will have to consult the manual(s) for the server you choose to use.
Your users can still use POP3 in their clients, but they will have to change the server settings (for incoming and outgoing servers). If you want to stop users from POP access to Yahoo, you need to have a firewall that allows such traffic control.
The comments about DNS in my first post are important for receiving mail and for being able to send mail without problems. You have to talk to whatever organisation that has your DNS (your ISP, probably) and ask them to change / add MX pointer and add RDNS etc (if not already in place). If your MX has been pointing to a (yahoo??) hosted mail server, they need re-pointing to your own IP. The firewall, of course, must allow SMTP traffic and forward to the internal IP of your mail server.
I hope the above makes sense of sorts. For more details regarding mail control there are experts here who know a lot, but at least Postfix has excellent on-line manuals.

Postfix and Mercury are free, Exhange is very expensive and has a system with licenses per user. I find at least Postfix and the POP3 function in Linux much easier to maintain than Exchange. This may depend on the number of users, of course, as well as knowledge about Linux. Mercury (for windows) is also fairly simple to set up and use.

Ok sorry for late reply...
Thanks RID...
Now i searched on expert site..regarding this e-mail server ( Ms-exchange,Mdameon,Mailen able, linux mail servers...etc and also advanced DNS settings to change the MX records to forward all emails to local ISP static IP address..Now conclusion is we coulddnot change the MX records of yahoo server coz they only permit if domain registration through yahoo hosting only.so we have to pull pop3 accounts from yahoo smallbusiness server to our local email server ,rightnow i have installed the MAil-enable server and configured the accounts for testing purpose ..it works properly..If you can give me the knowledge regarding the spam control & email address/domain filtering process using Mailenable local server....:)
Google apps is also good choice but they also want to change the MX records..yes that is necessary.
welcome more comments , if any other mail server application is easy to install/configure to download all remote pop3 accounts and forward to local email server users with filtering and to maintian the whitelist /blacklist....
Our Network setup is win2003 server Domain + win2000 server + 60 winxp desktop cleints.we have DSL ISp with 4 static ip's are configured through Netgear router.

The DNs records have to contain reverse lookup records, otherwise you'll be blacklisted soon enough and sending mail from your server will be made difficult.
For mail server software you can use Postfix on a Linux platform or Mercury (www.pmail.com) on windows platform, just as examples; there are several options.
Most Linux distributions include a POP3 (and IMAP) function, so it will just need to be started, Postfix takes care of the SMTP part. In Mercury, SMTP and POP3 are included in the server software.
Spam fighting is a science in its own right and can be added once you have your system up and running. Depending on your organisation, mail volume, etc, spam filtering CAN be done at the client level as well (e.g. Thunderbird has a very good filter function).
Blocking sender domains and senders can be done, but the procedure is particular to each mail server; you will have to read the manual etc for the software you choose to use.
