Backup Exec Remote Agent 12 Work With Media Server 10

I have an older Windows 2000 server that has Backup Exec Version 10 running our daily tape backups. I recently purchased Backup Exec version 12 and a cartridge backup solution to back up my all 3 of my servers instead of just the data. The other two servers are running Windows Server 2003. The backups work fine but I receive the error that I should upgrade my older remote agents to 11d. It states I will not be able to restore individual files until I do so. I tested it and I get an "access denied to the remote agent" when I try to restore a single file. Now I would like to install the newer Remote Agents. If I have the licenses, can I just remote install my version 12 agents on top of my older version 10 ones? Will this cause any conflicts? Do I need to uninstall my older version first?

When I go into Veritas Upgrade, it only lets me upgrade to version 11d which I would have to pay for. Can I just upgrade straight to 12 using the software disc that I have or do I need to go to 10.1 first? I'm just trying to find the simplest solution to get version 12 on all the servers without too much hassle or having to spend anymore on upgrades.
