certain songs wont sync

I've finished downloading aprox. 100 songs from Limewire, which are now in my I-Tunes library.  Theres an icon beside certain songs that won't sync. The error message that came up was that certain songs could not be sync"d because they could not be found.  I do not know what this means as it was downloaded from limewire no problems and  I transfered it into the I-Tunes library no worries but now these songs can't be sync"d. I don't want to go back and do it all again as the same problem may occur.
Have I don't something wrong, I have downloaded many songs before with no problems except for a few songs that wouldn't syn.  Is there anyway to clear this icon or get around this so that I can sync these songs.
thanks

leanne_48,

If you go to the iTunes Library and try to play the song, just as you would have the computer when syncing, what do you get?  Does each song play?

Let me know if you have any questions or need more information.

No, the songs with the icon beside it wont play. When you click on a song with the icon beside it, an error message comes up and says this song cannot be used as we cannot find the original file.  The songs with the icon beside them won't play or sync to my i-pod.

As a beginner to all of this, I will try and follow what you said.  I didn't realise that I was doing something behind itunes back.  I didn't know there was such a thing as doing something behind their back.  If this is the problem at least I've learnt something from this.  I'm just reading and trying to teach myself things as I go along as I don't have anybody to show or help me.
I will try the steps that you mentioned and get back to you if this solved it.
Thanks

xema, isn't that more or less what I was saying before?
Sorry I didn't read completely your post, i was misslead from the begining and didn't continue reading,
I apologize
>> the way xema explained it was much easier to understand.
I see. The most important is that you've been helped.
>> I apologize
Accepted, xema.
Moreover, apparently in this case repeating the bottom line in other words was needed.

>> But I do thank you people for your patience.
You're welcome.
I just wonder why you gave a B-grade. What answer would have deserved an A-grade?
I'm still learning how this point system works.  At the start I had to put so many points.  At the end when I got my answers I had to break down the points from that first total I gave, different  score point to each answer. I saw it came up with everybody got B's. I would have given A's but I don't have control over that, or do I?  As I saw where gave a low score on one part it still came up with a "B"  If you can explain to me how the points system works would be appreciated.
Thanks
Leanne
zzynx,  Now I look back over your answer, and have re-read it.  it is what  xema said, but for some reason I understood his version more.  After reading xema's then going back to yours it all made sense then.
I do apologise.
Thanks for all your help.
Leanne
Yes that would be great if you could do that for me .  I think xema & zzynx should both get an "A" as what they said did solve my problem.  So I know next time, could you tell me what steps I take to put the grade I want on there.
Thanks
Leanne
I know it must be frustrating sometimes to explain things to beginners as we sometimes don't understand computer talk.  When its explained in simple terms, we do get it.  the way xema explained it was much easier to understand.  But I do thank you people for your patience.

Would like to thank everybody for there help and prompt attention to my many questions.  This has been a learning curve for me and I appreciate all the help you have given me.
Thanks for being patient
