Exchange restore
I need to restore calender items fromand Exchange 2003 Backup. There is not enough disk space the current Exchnage Server to accommodate the rerstored Store. Can any one tell me if there are any pitfalls to building another exchange server and restoring the store to that machine before mounting it in the Recovery Storage Group, then extracting the required date using exmerge?

As such if you join the server to same Organization, there would be no pitfalls. Infact it works fine. See if you current server crashed in that case also you will build a new server and use Backup EDB only right ??? ....!!!
Go ahead and do the needful. You will face no issues as such.Just that after you restore the Calender using RSG and ExMerge, then you got to import it back to the required Mailbox !
