Database Block Size Best Practices
Hello,
There seems to be a general rule that "block size should match average record size". In managing many databases I tend to side with keeping them standardized and simple, i.e. not having custom block sizes (and settings) for every possible tablespace and the like.
The OS's in reference to this question are Windows 2003 Server 32 and 64 bit.
1. How can I determine average record size?
2. Can you offer any other lessons learned on Oracle block sizes? Any definite do's and dont's?
Thanks,
Michael4606
