Recoverying from a server crash with offline files in use

So I am preparing for a scenario.

I have a file server and users.
Offline files are activated on the file server, and if it goes offline users have access to their cached files.

Now if the server were to fail, and I had to completely replace and rebuild and backup from previous night, how to I ensure that the edits made offline, are copied over to the recovered server?

Are there any best practice ways of doing this that would not take years of manual copying and pasting?

Thanks guys

To clarify, are you saying that when clients attempt to sync back to the "rebuilt server" with the restored files, it will merely sync back to the file server, updating offline changes?

If yes, have you seen this take place, or is this theoretical. Thank you!
