My LAN Linked to Another LAN via Internet
Hi,
How do I remotely connect my LAN (at home PC) to another LAN (at Company PC) via Internet using remote desktop application, like Real VNC?
My Company router uses CISCO Express. It can be configured via web. If I need to configure the a VPN, I need a CISCO software called CISCO SDM.
Coorporation side:
My Company ---> LAN ---> Router ---> Static Public IP
My Home:
Using VPN or VNC remotely connect to my company PC ---> LAN ---> Router ---> ISP (Dynamic IP)
Can you find a solution for this one?
If I need to buy two switches that comes with VPN software, please give this information and how to do it.
Thanks.

Hi,
Use VPN to connect to your office network. There are hardware and software based VPN solutions.

I suppose this depends on if you want to vnc from work to home or home to work.
You can always forward the vnc tcp port (5900) for individual pcs at home using your router. If you need multiple machines you can change the listening ports on the machnes and forward those as well.
You need to run a dynamic IP client on your home router or one of your home pcs (I use www.dyndns.org) . Then you can connect to the the machines from work by connecting to , for example (mymachine.mynet.dynnds.or g:0)
You can do the same in reverse from your home to office.
If you want that same as being there kind of thing, where you connect directly to the internal IP addresses you can install a vpn capable router at both sites.
The prices have certainly dropped of late.

Is this sort of thing really okay with your place of business?

Hi,
My Router: CISCO 800 Series (CISCO 870)
I use web to configure my router which is CISCO SDM Express by typing an IP address. It requires CISCO SDM software to be installed inside my machine.
I need the software to open the Port 5900 in order for me to use VNC.Unfortunately, I need pay for it.
Is there an alternative way, so that it is met my requirement?
I need to buy VPN Switch in order to remotely connect to my office PC from home.
Please specify which hardware and software required. I don't want any remote services. I want it to be connected using VNC software direct or microsoft remote desktop.
Thanks

Alright, I'm confused here...
Are you looking for a vpn solution?
Or a VNC solution?
As stated in the first post, they are 2 completely different animals.

Hi,
Sorry for my uncleared explanation.
Any solution... as long as I can remotely connected from my home PC to my office PC.
If it is used VNC solution, I need to know what hardware and/or software I am supposed to use.
The same as VPN solution (What hardware and/or software I am supposed to use).
I need to know total solution.
Thanks.

VNC will NOT make a LAN-to-LAN connection.
It is used to remotely control another PC (PC-to-PC)
To use VNC, you'll have to NAT port 5900 on the company router to the company device you wish to control.
Install VNC Server on the PC you want to control.
Install VNC Client on your home PC.
Then, just run the client and point it to the public IP address of the company.
