Exchange 2000 Storage
I have exchange 2000 running on windows 2000 sp4 . In system manager i added all the users mailbox sizes and equal to only 7 gigs but the piv1.edb registers 13 gig the .stm file regestered 4 gis and my database was dimounting itself. i added the registry key to allow me an extra i gig of space but it still continued to dismount itself. The only choice left was to due and off line defrag which took 4 hours , know the storage mounts itself but is still in jeopardy considering the piv1.edb is @ 13 gig and the .stm is 2 gig. I have noticed that their is a temp.log that continues to grow and makes the piv1.edg grow as well. i figured by morning times my storage would not be able to mount itself. i diconnected the ethernet cable and noticed that the log quite growing. connected it back and went back to growing so i started turning switched off. once i almost had the whole company disconnect it managed to quite growing. now i have all switches connected and online my temp.log grows but my piv1.edb stays the same what was causing that and if i do a count of mailbox sizes its equavalent of 6 gigs but my piv1.edg registers 13 gig how can i get this back down or is it not registering correctly.
