Offline Files Synchronization Error "Parameter is incorrect"

I am receiving an error message when trying to synchronize my offline files on my laptop to my desktop on my home office network. The error reads - Offline files[\\-----\-----(computer name)]: unable to merge offline changes on '\----\----'. The parameter is incorrect.

I have not received this in the past and have been able to synchronize offline files to my desktop computer at home when returning from travel without problem.

Basically your CSC (client side cache is corrupted.....)

The above is my personal preference on the steps to go through, which will protect the data thats not synched....

Here is an article on it, but it doesnt explain how to make sure the data is safely extracted if not synched yet....
