Word 2003 / 2007 entering Ordinal Numbers in Dates
Please would you give simple instructions about adding an entry for ordinal numbers in Dates.

I have :
Error! Too many picture switches defined.{ DATE \@ "d" \* Ordinal } { DATE \@ " MMMM yyyy" }

when entering.  I am merely a novice and know nothing of switches.
Is there a simple step by step approach to deal with Date Fields and Date Codes?
I have looked at Graham Mayor's work:
http://www.gmayor.com/formatting_word_fields.htm

but his information is too advanced for me.
I just want to insert ordinal dates into my letters.
Thanks

That works OK with me in Word 2003.
Are you sure that you can see everything. Try showing the field codes in your document with the Alt+F9 toggle.

The Alt+F9 keystroke should work when the document is open, but no dialogues are showing.

Most keystroke shortcuts to do with fields involve the F9 key.

e.g. F9 will update all the fields in the Selection and Ctrl+F9 is used to insert an empty field that looks like this: {}.

Microsoft Word is a commercial document editing program that is part of the Microsoft Office suite. It features numerous text-editing tools for creating richly formatted documents, along with tools for the use of macros in Word documents. Word's native file formats are denoted either by a .doc or .docx file extension. Plugins permitting the Windows versions of Word to read and write formats it does not natively support, such as the OpenDocument format (ODF) are available. Word can import and display images in common bitmap formats such as JPG and GIF. It can also be used to create and display simple line-art.
