Laptop does not work in a specific location

Ok this is the most bizzar issue I have had in my 20 + years of computer support. I have a client that has a laptop that does not work in his house. It works fine in my office or other locations...NO not the wireless the entire PC blue screens at his house and works just fine at other locations, as long as it is 1-2 blocks from his house. My laptop (a HP NC6400) works fine at his house, and he has other wireless machines at his house that work just fine. (Connected to the wireless internet no blue screens work just fine)

no this was not a one time thing it has been repeatedly duplicated, and I even booted this computer up before I got to his house and walked it into his kitchen where it blue screened.

Very puzzled but not high

Is it plugged into the wall socket when he is at home?
Could be a power irregularity...
Hello

I assume that one of his Power supply parts was broken but not totally damage and was not compatible with the voltage current in the house because of parts leak, please switch your power supply and his, see if they are both the same voltage and power sign(-+).   Also check the battery if probably affected.  Test it, so you will know an additional idea.

it turned out to be electro-magnetic interference that was being picked up by the wireless network card. Disabled the card and it worked fine in the house. other wireless cards work in this house, and the wireless in the laptop worked fine at other locations. very weird. it had the same issues whether plugged in or on battery power.
OK

Electro-magnetic interference is the possible cause.

Possible Fix:
Enable Spread Spectrum in Motherboard Bios to highest percentage protection.
Change Band Frequency to lowest or to highest.
Change channel.
Change Data Rate to lowest (for testing).

Good Luck
:)
Hmp!

I don't understand, booting to safe mode and disabling some devices doesn't change.

Because it works just fine at other locations.

Anyway,

Thanks for the points, I had a feeling it was some kind of interference the wifi card...

I would check any cordless phones, one of the biggest sources of interference with wifi depending up on the frequency the cordless phones use.
