Allow Multiple Remote Desktop Connections?

Hello Experts,

Is it possible to allow multiple remote desktop connections to a Windows XP Professional box with SP2?

Thanks,
Wayne

Is there any possible way?  I read something about messing with the reg keys, but never like doing that without others confirming it works.

Is there any other software that will allow it?

The reason is that we have a machine that multiple users are wanting to use over the next few weeks.

You can have different users connect at different times to the same machine, each using their own login and password, but there's nothing in XP that will allow two sessions at the same time.  XP Remote Desktop allows a remote user to take over the existing desktop session, unlike Windows Server, which creates a new session for eacch remote user.

If your users will not be working at the same time, you could be OK, otherwise no luck.
Ultra VNC  will allow multiple connections to a single xp box (they would all be same session tho)

The Microsoft way to do this is to install Windows Server (a multi-user OS) on the box you want to have users access, then run _another_ machine to manage licenses (that you buy) for Terminal Services on the server. This costs a lot.

An alternative is just to run Linux on the box you want to share. It is a multi-user system already. This is free. This might actually work, depending on what kind of apps your users need to run.

Just a thought.
