Error in IIS7 - specified path is unavailable
Howdy Experts!
My first Server 2008 setup...so I could be missing something obvious.
Trying to install a .NET web service applciation onto Server 2008, IIS 7. Installer returns the following error:
The specified path 'http://servername/virtualdirectory' is unavailable. The Internet Information Server might not be running or the path exists and is redirected to another machine. Please check the status of this virtual directory in the Internet Services Manager
I have checked to make sure no loopback adapter is installed, tried manually creating the VD, put a sample HTML in the VD physical location and was able to browse it, rename the server to a simple name, but still no luck.
Any suggestions out there?
