GPO won't replicate because of the FRS Error
Has any of you experts in Windows Server ever enountere ths error message ?
I've created a GPO through GPMC.msc in my DC.
and then when i run RSOP.msc under my PC, i got this error below
The following error occurred in C:\WINDOWS\Inf\AER_1044.AD M on line 30:
Error 64 Help string specified more than once
The file can not be loaded.
some said (from this forum) that reinstalling Service pack can repair this problem, but its not that easy since
my Domain Controller is currently use by Exchange Server 2007, if it goes down the email goes down too.
any idea and suggestion would be very much appreciated.
thanks.

Hmm but actually I think it's more likely that it's upset because it tries to process all the files in C:\Windows\Inf despite few of them being used.
Do you only get the one error message?

Yes Chris,
that's a good idea to isolate the problem, however the language is English Australia.
I'll try that suggestion and see if its help.

Chris, how about if i just right CLick and delete it from GPMC.MSC ?
is that ok and not causing the further error that is enforced by the GPO ?

I don't particularly see why not. It you don't need the policy template then there's no real need to load it.

Chris,
how come i get the same error message in my local PC and in my DC that C:\Windows\Inf\AER-1044.ADM got error on the same line ?

Is the file present on your PC and the DC?
Chris

yes they're both in the same Windows\Inf dir.
I'm just wondering how does it work after all ?
since all of the RSOP.msc result still giving me the same C:\Windows\Inf\AER-1044.AD M file that is error.

Hm....
strangely enough when i diagnose these settings:
1. Schema Consistency
2. Directory Replication
3. Site Configuration
4. GPO Synchronization
5. NTFRS Status
using Quest Spotlight for AD v6.7 i found no errors and all of them are in good condition.
but see the error line number one is 189 (PC) and the other is 30 (DC)

Hey,
Once of the non-english policy templates for Application Error Reporting (AER). Don't ask me which language it is, never was any good at that.
Any chance you can attach the file? I can compare it with the version I have running on my Exchange server.
