DNS during VPN connection

I setup my clients for pptp connections via ras. However when they connect the DNS server is not automatically being pushed to their connection so they can only connect to servers and desktops via ip where would the setting for DNS be. As a note my dhcp server resides on the same box

If you use a DHCP relay agent, DHCP will supply the DNS IP and Domain suffix, but a DHCP relay agent can only be used when the DHCP service is on a different server than RRAS.
In other scenarios it will get the DNS information from the Network adapter of the RRAS server. Often the WAN adapter does not have this information and you need to assign the DNS IP and Domain suffix to the client manually. The following links may be of some help:
