Email Error: Mailbox unavailable. The server response was: 5.7.1 Unable to relay

Hello Experts,

I have a form which sends an email.  It was working fine until our corporate office's email server when down.  After they fixed it, the form stopped working.  I'm getting:

Mailbox unavailable. The server response was: 5.7.1 Unable to relay for user@domain.com

It works fine for anyone that's within our domain.  But if fails for anyone outside of our domain.  My theory is that when they rebuilt the mail server they didn't enable relaying.  The problem is, they don't intend to re-enable relaying ... so I'm on my own.

Is there any way to send an email so that it won't matter if relaying is enabled?  What other options do I have?

You can do the delivery yourself. You just need to code your project to be able to gather the MX dns record for the domain specified by the email address.

Hi CyrexCore2k,
Sorry, I was away from the office.  Can you help me with some sample code on this?  I read the article but it's a bit above my coding level.
