Friend of mine did a repair on his Win XP and on procedure it asked for the file NT5INF.CAT
and wouldn't go on without it. Now, from this site http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;290790&Product=win2000
I found out that the required file can be found on a windows 2000 disk. Problem is that neither he nor i do have
a win2k disk and is no longer available in stores, also we couldn't find any friends at his or mine location
having a win 2000 disk at hands.

So, it  is simply a file NT5INF.cat or NT5INF.CA_  or NT5INF.C__ that we need from anyone here at EE who
has a win2k disk available. Please.

I found the requested file under the folder I386 in a Windows 2000 Server CD.

I hope it helps.

Here it goes again, the extension was not accepted, though I changed the extension. The only thing you have to do is to delete the ".zip" text at the end. It is NOT in zip format.
NT5INF.CA-.zip

I passed file and information to my friend.
So he'll try the file and repair soon.
I'll let you know then. Thanks for now.
