I have a dbgrid with 4 fields. When i manually set them in the designer, they all (with a margin) fit inside the dbgrid. When i execute, the fields grow slightly, and enough to not all fit inside the dbgrid, without scrolling. Can i tell the dbgrid to not change the with?

There should be a property somewhere called something like "autosize" or whatever - I'll check when I load delphi in a moment - but setting this to false should help. Also make sure that your DBGrid isn't one of those fancy onese like TJvDBGrid where you can store the field properties in an INI file - so when the user runs the application the DBGrid's persistent fields are loaded (and stored) there.

Oh, i think i fond it. Its when the scrollbar adds in, after the second append. Can that be it?

Hmmm I think the 'autosize' option is for JvDBGrid. In any case, if you double-click on your DBgrid to bring up the list of persistent fields, there is a 'Expanded' option. I think if you set this to 'True' then they do their own thing. Mine are set to false;
