I have ASPX pages that could be displayed with MS Visual Studio 2003 in design and source view. I have upgraded to VS 2005 and the same pages can not be viewed in designed mode. VS says I have hundrends of errors with HTML tags and can view the page in design view. I can I turn off these error messages so I can view the page?

Visual Studio is validating the HTML of your web page against a validation schema: because of this you are seeing the errors. Maybe the current schema that Visual Studio is using to validate your site produces the errors. You should change the validation schema.

Go to Tools -> Options ->
In the bottom left, if it's not checked, check "Show all settings".
Then in options treeview, go to Text Editor -> HTML -> Validation.

Then choose another schema (try XHTML 1.0 transitional of if it doesn't work another of your election) and, optionally, uncheck "Show errors".

Hope that it works for you. Good luck.

I have selected Internet Explorer 6.0. This has less errors. When I choose XHTML 1.0 transitional, I have over hundred errors on the page.
