How do you redirect a users printer session to another printer?

Printers can be set up and overridden in a number of places, including under program control by applications.

A user's base printer is controlled by the PRTDEV parameter on their user profile.  For an existing user profile, use the CHGUSRPRF command to permanently change the user's profile:

If you want to just temporarily change the print device or outq for the duration of a given job, for example, you can use the CHGJOB command.

If you want to temporarily override print settings in a program, you can use the OVRPRTF command to set up an override, and DLTOVR to remove the override.

All of these commands are documented in the Information Center for your version/  Here's a link to V5R1, just as an example
