Hi Folks,

Any ideas what this error might be?
I am getting a compilation error intermittently. Sometimes the page loads fine and at times I get this error.

My page is created with a master page and uses User Controls (.ascx) which are dynamically loaded depending on what the user selects using the code:
            Dim AdminControl As Control
            AdminControl = Page.LoadControl(Request.ApplicationPath & "/UserControls/GroupAdmin.ascx")
            AdminPlaceHolder.Controls.Add(AdminControl)

The error is as follows:
Compilation Error
Description: An error occurred during the compilation of a resource required to service this request. Please review the following specific error details and modify your source code appropriately.

Compiler Error Message: BC30456: 'CreateResourceBasedLiteralControl' is not a member of 'ASP.admin_master'.

Source Error:
Line 5:
Line 6:  <html xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml" >
Line 7:  <head runat="server">
Line 8:      <title>Admin Page</title>
Line 9:      <style>

Source File: Admin.master    Line: 7

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

M.

In the HTML code of the page, on top there is page tag.
just below that, add this:

<%@ Reference Control="~/UserControls/GroupAdmin.ascx" %>

Ajolly solution seems to work.
The problem only occurs when I copy it to the webserver.
Locally it works fine.
Difficult to test but so far that seems to have fixed it.

That's seems to have fixed it, it's a difficult one to test as it only occurs on the webserver, not locally but so far it seems to be working.
Anyway thanks for your help.
Much appreciated.

Hello, I'm not using user controls and I receive the same message, I have a Masterpage and a contentpage, I use authentication mode="forms"

The problem is when I deploy my app to a target site IIS.
