Visio keeps opening after document is closed.

I am using Visio Standard 2002 SP1 and the application will not stay closed after I exit.  I close and save the file and a new Visio document will open.  I tried ending the task under the Applications tab but that did the same thing too...it just keeps opening.  The only way I can close Visio is to end the process under the Processes tab.

Thanks for the help.

It's hard to guess what might be going on, and VIsio 2002 is very old... but I would start by installing SP2 for Visio 2002 to see whether that makes any difference. I've long since forgotten what the key fixes and benefits of SP2 are but the service pack has been around since late 2004/early 2005 so it's well tested.

Let me know whether this helps...

I've found the reason why Visio is doing this.  There is a template called PDFMVisio.vsl in C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Visio10\1033\Startup.  Once this was removed Visio closed and stayed closed.
