Unable to establish the VPN connection.

So up until Sunday, the RAS was working fine on the server.  Now when anyone tries to connect, they get...

"Unable to establish the VPN connection.  The VPN server may be unreachable, or security parameters may not be configured properly for this connection. (Error 800) For customized troubleshooting information for this connection, click Help."

I have checked open ports 1723, 47. On the router and the server.  Everyting seems to be properly configured.  Ran CEICW multiple times,  Ran configure remote access multiple times.  

I have attempetd to check the certificate server at http://servername/certsrv with no success, I thought it was a web service or program but no success there.  Could the cert have expired?

 RWW and OWA still works properly.

Manually checked over all of the configuration of everything but still no success.
Ran netstat -an |find /i "listening"
netstat -an |find /i "established"
 and neither showed 1723 as listening or established.  

Please help!

can you connect from inside your network?

No from inside the network it does not connect either using the client.

I tired telnet ipaddress 1723.  Don't know if that was a vaild test not using the client

I would run the RRAS wizard and remove and reinstall RRAS.

After attempting to get everyting up and running, I scheduled a server restart and after the restart the RAS was back to functioning again.  Oh the miracles of the restart.
