basically all i'd like to do is set up email reporting for backup jobs. i've seen an area in "log options" to do so but have not had any luck receiving emails..i've noticed in other software such as arcserve and backup exec that email reporting requires a bit more information

anyone familiar with setting up email alerts for yosemite backup software

Have you considered SyncBack, I use it all the time for small network and stand alones, real easy to use and free. Check out http://www.2brightsparks.com/downloads.html#freeware
