3 Blackberry services will not start 1053 errors Event IDs 7000, 7009

Hi Experts:

Windows 2000 server with Blackberry Professional Software on it.  Installed another software package and overwrote the database information.  I am a newbie at SQL (all versions, Express, etc...) and I am not sure exactly what happened but I get 3 services with 1053 "did not respond in a timely fashion".  The services are:  Blackberry Alert, Blackberry Policy Service and Blackberry Synchronization Service.

I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling the BES software.  I have called and opened a case with Blackberry support but so far (several hours) they can't find it either. I don't care about recovering the database as there are only 2 users, I just need it to start working again.

Thank you VERY much for the assistance!

Screw the old database. I'd open SQL manager, delete the database named "BESMGMT" and uninstall the BES, then reinstall it from scratch. If you overwrote the SQL data, all is lost already.

Thanks for the reply.  I already tried several reinstalls, even giving new names.  I don't have SQL manager on the box, just an MMC, and I don't know what I'm doing with it.  Again, I don't care abouit the database anymore, just getting the services back up.  I'll set up the 2 BBs later.

Please write back!
I'm interested to see what other events happen in your event log when you get tha 1053 error. Check your application and system event logs when you recieve this... let me know if any other once occur at the same time.
7009 and 7000, and something about the timing, like "3000 milliseconds".  That's all.  :(  Other services working fine.  I can send you event log offline if you wish.
I'm hoping to hear back from you soon, please.
I cant tell you much based on the information you sent me. I am much more familiar w/ the full blow BES rather than just the professional software, so excuse me if i make any mistakes.

Run the BlackBerry Server Config tool on the server. Turn the logging up to 4 on each of the services. Reboot the server.

Once they fail to start, look at the Application event logs first. See if there are any errors that come from BlackBerry.

Check out the logs, specifically the BlackBerry Controller log. Look at the last dozen log lines or so, and see if anything pops out. Copy/Paste them here.
