Contact Me Page

Hi I am looking to create a Contact Me Page in Dreamweaver using a Form. When the submit button is clicked I want the data to move seamlessly into the mailto: emails address attached. The problem is the system keeps trying to contact a mail server or something and the Submit buttons does not send the email. I assume I have to write some php or cgi script. Can anybody please advise? Also I am hosting with IXWebhosting.com and they have an automatic generation for websites. When I create a Contact Me window using this, it works correctly.

I used the "Feedback Form Wizard" on this page: http://www.thesitewizard.com/wizards/feedbackform.shtml to create a php-based feedback form for a couple of sites. It worked well. One issue I had is that a couple of months after posting the form, some hacker or hacker-bot got a hold of my form and flooded my inbox with spam, so I had to add a "captcha" to the form.

Hi Thanks for the site above, however this only deals with Name, Email and Also Comment. I am looking to add more than these fields in my Feedback Form. What do you think?

Excellent thanks for the assistance. Regarding your email issue highlighted above, if I have an email address which is setup as part of the domain, will this be OK or will I have to use the webmaster address? I have created a number of email addresses des@nojob2big.com for example, will this work as my From address?

yes, it will work fine with any e-mail address you have created. just remembered on a different site I created "feedback@mydomain.com" for the single purpose of collecting mail from the form. Then I set up an auto-forward in the IX control panel to send all that e-mail to my real address, so the "feedback" address never needs to be checked.
