Vertical characters appears when trying to log onto https://webmail.blueyonder.co.uk

When trying to access webmail on Blueyonder we see vertical characters and spaces
instead of our username.  

Tried installing Avant browser and logging into same area does the same thing.
Doesn't happen when using same server to go to other secure sites such as googlemail.

Problem doesn't exist other machines.   (Tested ok on separate machines running IE6 and IE7).
Machine has 3 GB RAM

Any ideas would be appreciated.

In IE, Tools, Options, there is the ability to override the font, colours, etc. rendered on the webpage - there's a button called Accessibility.  Can you check that there's no ticks in there overriding default behaviour.  Alternatively, try to override the Font being used.  Have you tried using Firefox instead of IE?

Thanks your post. We have tried the options in accessibility - none of the boxes were ticked. I proceeded to tick them then untick them just in case - then tried again - but the result was the same.   We haven't tried firefox but have tried Avant browser with the same result.
It seems that wherever the problem is it's something that both IE6 and Avant link into on the server.

Another thing I can think is to go into Control Panel, Regional Settings, and make sure there's no oddities set up in there.  

Finally, to see if there's some kind of problem interpreting Virgin's css file, Save the webpage onto your hard drive in its entirety, then load that up into a browser.  It won't show up the "Powered by Google" panel, and that's how you know you are working locally.  Now try typing something into the Username box.  Does that work, or still the same?

Thanks for all your help. My boss has asked me to use a work around which is to use mail2web which allows the user to log into the email without problems.
