Format Crystal Fields through VB.NET

I am trying to change the formatting of fields based upon selection in a VB .NET program.  How can I do this?  The version of VB .NET is 2003.

Parameters are one way to do it.

What is you want to change.

The format of a field.  Like changing the decimal points or the negative sign for a formatted number.  Things like that.

You can pass a parameter in and use it in the formula that sets the format.

Right click the field
Find the format you want to change
If there is a formula button to the right of the format name you can control it through the formula

For example the decimal points you use something like

If {?Param} = 2 then
    2
else
    4
