Authorize.net and gateways

My client has a bank that this is their first internet merchant account.
They said they only support:
FDRNashville, FDROmoaha, Vital, Bypass
which to my understanding are backend processors.

Do either LinkPoint or Authorize.net "speak" to those platforms?

If so, what reseller is recommended to get a gateway account?  Normally i get them thru the bank, but this bank isn't there yet (!)

(My client allows the other options already: googlecheckout, paypal, paypal pro;    the reason for jumping through hoops for the merchant acct is because the bank offers a low % rate)

Yes, both will support the FirstData transaction processor.  FirstData actually owns LinkPoint so no problems there.

If they get an Authorize.net gateway, the merchant will just need to know the MID / TID along with their merchant ID (14 digits) to obtain the Authorize.net gateway.

As far as a merchant account, I would recommend you get one from a merchant account provider, not a bank.  Most banks outsource this as well.  The merchant account provider will charge you a discount rate and transaction fee.  The gateway might charge a transaction fee, give you a few for free, or charge something for each transaction.  So keep that in mind as well.

As far as "rates", most are about 2.19% unless you have well established volume and you can get a lower rate.

And since they have Paypal, Paypal offers Payflow gateway - a bit more expensive but it is compatible with the First Data network
