MS Forefront Client Security vs. Symantec End Point Security

Hi All,

I'm just wondering of which server antivirus/anti malware that is easier to maintain without causing so much disruption to the server.

I'm planning to fortify my internal Exchange Server 2007 and Domain Controller with Anti malware protection. (is it a good idea or not necessary ?)

please share your thought here.

Thanks.

I have not used the microsoft thing but im guessing it will buggy as hell till a SP comes out for it.
Symantec EP is great now that they have the mr3 version, has antispam included so if you are wanting an all in one solution i reccomend SEP I have installed it personally on 3 servers and had no issues. upgrades are not an issue, no need to uninstall old version simply reinstall over the top.. works great.

Cheers

yes, that sounds make sense after all :-)

i was wondering if Microsoft product (FFSC) is installed in the Exchange Server and Domain Controller it should be automatically know and 100% compatible.

but with the SEP which i've installed on my client (laptop and desktop) strangely it blocks DHCP packet and AD network traffic !?!?! (my ip address is not the usual internal class ABC).

would that be mean for the Server I should install the same client like the one i installed in the clients ?

that's why I was a bit worry and would like to know the opinion from all of the experts in here.

Thanks for replying.
