Hi Rick81,

I have just a couple of additional questions. What is the standard verification error?  Which version Server/Exchange version are you using?  Are you using a SSL certificate?  I'm assuming you're using the iPhone2.  Also I'm assuming that other smart phones are connecting without a problem.

Thanks

iphone says "exchange verification failed"
am on SBS2003.  Exchange SP2
iphone is up to date on 2.1
i have no ssl certificate.

the iphone gives me the cert error and says accept etc, then after that the verification fails.
its like it connects as it says the cert error but doesnt verify properly.

i have setup imap4 with no problems but i really want active sync to work.

i have tested this iphone on another exchange server with active sync and all works great.  that server has exchange 2007 on though and i didnt configure it.

thanks
If you're not using an SSL cert then why is it giving you a cert error.  Do you have the SSL turned off.  The setting is under account info, at the bottom of the screen "Use SSL" is that set to off?

if i access OWA i get a cert error anyway.
yeh ive tried with SSL off on iphone.

i even get a cert error on the exchange 2007 server which has an ssl certificate.
cliick accept and that one works though

"unable to verify certificate" is the erroor.  i clikc accept.
and then get "exchange account verification failed"

then i just saved it and continued on and got "sync for null error"

then "the connection to the server failed" same with SSL off/on

Does active sync work on any other smart phones in the company (i.e. a WM5/6 phone)?  This will confirm if the issue is server side or client side.  My guess would be that activesync or some other piece of IIS isn't setup correctly.

i have no other phone to test with.  its not the iphone as it works with another server.  id say its IIS or active sync setup problem also.
