Where can I purchase a vehicle (automobile) database to be used in SQL?

I'd like to purchase "automobile" information that I can import into an MS SQL database. This would be used in dropdowns so the user could select MAKE, MODEL and YEAR in a vehicle search.

-> What's important is it has all makes, models, and years of vehicles.

-> I don't need all the options, or a VIN decoder.

A subscription to this type of info would be ok, but I'd love to be able to outright purchase and download it.

Considering there are all kinds of databases out there for cities, zip codes, area codes, etc - I thought this would be easy....but so far, I can't find what I need...

Thanks!

you have not mentioned for which country. For some contries you can google and find the vendors. For eg. in india http://www.niir.org/books/book/zb,,13a_a_0_0_a/AUTOMOBILE+DIRECTORY+DATABASE+OF+INDIA/

If you use NetScaler you will want to see these guides. The NetScaler How To Guides show administrators how to get NetScaler up and configured by providing instructions for common scenarios and some not so common ones.

Both good solutions...but I don't have the time to scrape it from KBB, and the other one looks like it's the guys hobby - not sure if he would supply updates, etc...

Will give you the points if nothing else turns up, but I'm hoping for someone who actually sells this as a business, and can supply updates, etc...

Thanks!

Yes, that listing is for the UK, and is an incomplete listing for the US.

Have you tried contacting the folks at Kelly?  They just might have the database available for a small fee, with updates...
