Project 2007 crashes when you try to open a project file.
I can open Project fine, I can save the file fine, but when I try to open it, project crashes and says it needs to restart. I have reinstalled project with chance.

Project 2007 (the initial release) had quite a few little bugs, that drove me crazy. If you look here, you can see some of them (such as missing tasks/code values/etc) that are addressed and fixed in the first service pack:

I would start by downloading the service pack and then trying to install the updates (after sp1) if there are any that you do not have. To get these, I would run windows update and change it so that it runs "microsoft update", which will get the security fixes, office updates, etc:
update.microsoft.com/micro
Also - I turn the microsoft update off, after using it, because it often runs a muck in the background (the svchost.exe for it) will sometimes go crazy and use a ton of resources (RAM and mainly CPU) . To turn it off, just launch the windows update and go to option/perferences and go back to "windows update" instead of "microsoft update".
