check in control panel > energy management, and adjust the settings as you wish

i tried the energy management already, it didn't solve the problem.

the bios does ask for a password,   I got the master hash code by hitting f12 when the bios asks for a password

are you sure it is not the bios version?
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hash_function
on older laptops, you could reset the password by taking out the CMOS battery
