I have been able to gain access and use an Applet from SVG when I create a hybrid HTML/SVG document, the essnetials for that are covered here: http://wiki.svg.org/Inter-Document_Communication.

What I want is a pure SVG document that loads and uses an Applet without having to put the SVG inside an HTML document.

You can't embed applets in SVG.

Applets need to be embedded in HTML (like you had before)

Sorry about that

Tim

PS: You can display SVG inside an applet with https://svgsalamander.dev.java.net/ but that isn't what you wanted... :(
