As I understand it, every device needs to support jumbo frames in order to use jumbo frames on your switch meaning you cant mix standard & jumbo frames on the same switch.   Our Netscreen firewalls do not support jumbo frames.
Can someone comfirm this?

Some models with particular modules do support jumbo frames, what model are you using

I cannot find specific documentation that is does or does not, however, the newer systems indicate they now support jumbo frames. Since the NS-50 is end of sale and is legacy netscreen my interpretation is that it does not support it. However, go into the interface config and see if there is an option for it, if it is not there I again would have to say it does not support it.
