Looking for way to Block Return Receipts from going Out

Is there a way in MS exchange 2003 SP2 to not allow Return receipts out the door.  Wondering about the Allow Delivery reports Check box on the  Internet Message Formats ?     As many are now getting SPAM mail that comes in with Return Receipts and it goes to junk and it cleaned up when deleted the Return Receipt goes out.  Looking for a way to stop the RR from going out of exchange.

Hope this helps

Will Give that a try ........  Was not sure if that was only for Delivery Reports or if it included Return Receipts Too !    .... Would be great if it included Return receipts too ! !

100% it will work....there is nothing to worry. It has been working for 10000s of organizations including mine ;-) !
Just in case....it doesn't here is a solution http://www.experts-exchange.com/Software/Server_Software/Email_Servers/Exchange/Q_23539134.html

Thanks I'm trying it using a seperate domain and server i have on the Internet ....

Have a domain called   Simbasolutions.com  and have that devined for  *@simbasolutions.com in my MS Exchange Message Formats as a domain and turned off delivery notification.    It must take awhile to take effect.   The Message format Domain was alerady there but unchecking the  Allow Delivery Reports  initially still lets the  Read Receipt Go out the door.  Will wait a bit just to be sure.

one thing of note all our outbound Mail goes from Exchange thru a Relay Server (SMTP GW)  but should not matter if exchange does not send it it would just  die on the vine.

My guess is the change is not autmoatic will take a little while to replicate around.

One question .... This should not impact  Internal Exchange to Exchage  read Receipts Correct  ?

Only messages to the internet as I understand it ?

Am in thinking right ?

Thanks,
David
THANKS FOR YOUR HELP !!!!!!

Hey, do not forget  to close the question.
This helps reduce the load on the EE Cleanup volunteers, and I happen to be one of them :-) !

Thank You !   I've tried it so I must either have to wait awhile for replication or bounce the SMTP Virtual Server ......  Tried it just for the one domain @simbasolutions.com

Will wait some time and see.

thanks,
David
