Restore master database

I need to restore the master database to a new server. The file structure is completely different, so I'll also need it to move the current ldf and mdf files. I have the server in single user mode and do not know how to query the server since i cannot open up MSSMS and do a new query, without it complaining about single user mode. Is there an OSQL statement or how else would this be done?

I need to restore from a different database server. Right now i'm getting "the backup set holds a backup of a database other than the existing 'master'database

That will not work.  Your database IDs will be wrong, your users will be wrong.

What are you attempting to accomplish by copying master anyway?

I wanted to copy over all the database permissions and other information some programs store in the master instead of in their own databases.
