Can anyone recommend a good source of standards-compliant, browser-compatible, well-written Drupal templates please?

There's always the ubiquitous Template Monster:
http://www.templatemonster.com/drupal-themes.php

I've used a couple of their non-Drupal templates with great results, especially as a starting point for building a whole new design.
