Hi There,

We are having problems getting Lotus Notes to run on OS X.

We have 4 Mac's that are running it with no problem and 3 that are not.

The installation of the software goes fine and even allows you to get in to the client and do the inital setup, such as setting the location / conneciton documets. Setting the Workspace as the home page and opening databaese.

The problem occurs after Notes has been closed and you try to re-open it.

The notes Icon bounces up and down on the dock and then just stops.

I have opened the log on these clients and it shows the following;

10/06/2008 05:03:50 PM  Dynamic Client Configuration started
10/06/2008 05:03:50 PM  Initializing Dynamic Client Configuration
10/06/2008 05:05:06 PM  Dynamic Client Configuration updating policy information
10/06/2008 05:05:06 PM  No Message Queue with that name.
10/06/2008 05:05:06 PM  Dynamic Client Configuration error: No Message Queue with that name.
10/06/2008 05:05:06 PM  Dynamic Client Configuration shutdown

I have tried to reinstall the software but this make so difference.

Has anyone got any experence of this issue?

see

http://www-01.ibm.com/support/docview.wss?rs=475&uid=swg21212699&ca=lsnot

for a start.

You might consider disabling DCC temporarily until you resolve this.

I hope this helps !

Hello,

OK so I had a look at the above and then went to try and disable DCC.

I found out that on MAC OS X there is not notes.ini but a Notes Preference File.

When I went to look for this file I found that it dosn't even exist.

Any one come accross this issue? i.e. not Notes Preference File in MAC OS X

Cheers for these links,

The first one is no good I am afraid as it is just for Notes 6.

I have found the preference file and inputted the disable line for DCC but it has made no difference.

On a Mac that runs notes with no issues once the icon is clicked it starts instantlly and the Notes Splash screen appears and then the applicaiton opens up.

On the ones that are refusing to start the applicaiton, when you click on the icon it bounces up and down for about 20 seconds and then just stops bouncing.

Can you turn on debug logging via the preferences , and copy the log.nsf file to a working machine to read the results , or optionally set debugging output to a file .

I hope this helps !

I would contact IBM at this point or increase the logging level, but you may not get more info.

Are there any differences between the machines and installed software/ antivirus etc ?
