ExchangeMTA Event ID 2219

Every couple of weeks our exchange server becomse unreachable for a few minutes.  In the application event log, I see event ID 2219 followed by serveral 2206 followed by 2207.  Shortly after the Exchange IS restarts and then everything is okay.

What is causing this?

Which version of Exchange are you running.

These errors are normally generated when the server runs an MTACheck after the server / services have been restarted following an abnormal restart

Post back with the version, can you also check if there is anything in the eventlog showing what is restarting services / restarting the server?
How are you getting on with this - do you need any more assistance?

We are using some third party clustering software and it was set to restart all services if any failed, including some unrelated services.
