Hardware-Raid Monitoring Software

I have various servers of which I administer, but via remote desktop.  It is a rare occasion that I actually have to physically be in front of the server(s), thus I never see any POST screens which would report any SMART or other hardware failure messages.  Im trying to find some type of Raid monitoring software that will support hardware-raids, NOT software-raids.  I primarily would like to find this software for my fileserver which is a custom build, with an Asus P5K-E motherboard in it.  I have searched all over Asus website to try to find such a utility, but to no avail.  I have also searched through the actual Raid Chipset Manufactures site, but again, to no avail.  I know HP has a raid-monitoring software, but only for HP servers.  Ive tried searching Google, but am not able to find a program that I trust enough to give my domain admin logon credentials to.  Thanks in advance for the assistance.

Unfortunately this is RAID controller based.

You may need to update to a RAID controller that does SNMP and email alerts.

I hope this helps !

So there isn't any kind of thrid-party software that offers monitoring regardless of the manufacture?

am trying to solve a similar problem. have combed Softpedia for a solution to no avail.

perhaps a log monitor utility would do the job, but don't know if a problem / failure of a single HDD in an array would produce an event (application or system) in Server 2k3.
(one way to test that is _ powering down _ removing / disconnecting a disc in an array _ restarting & and seeing what happens. not done that yet.)

Up.time 5 might have the desired functionality, can test on a trial version, trial includes free support:

i've not tested it myself.

if thinking of changing hardware, on LSI controllers you can use a free utility called LSI:n MegaRAID Storage Management that has easy-to-config email alert functionality.
