Create Deployment Package VB.net using Visual Studio 2008

I have a project with an existing deployment package. I would like to know how to create a new deployment package from scratch. What considerations do I have if I am using SQL Server 2005 Express database? Does the database get installed separately? I would like it to create a menu shortcut, a menu selection.

Can someone give me a step by step outline?

On the Solution explorer-->right click your project and select properties
On the window opened click Publish
Click Prerequisites and scroll down till you find SQL express  ;-)

determines if the client has SQL Server 2005 Express database installed or not
That way the client has to install it durring your app installation
