Downgrade Sony vaio VGN-NR10E/S

I'm trying to downgrade a VAIO laptop from vista to xp. When I attempt to install xp the setup menu comes up with a message that no hard drive was found.

How do I get xp to find the hard drive?

1) You first need to get the hard drive drivers on a floppy ( external USB )
download the drivers from the SONY site.

while there download ALL XP drivers, since you will need them after the basic install.

this does not always work, especially on newer laptops that do not support XP.

thanks for the info ... but how do i copy the drivers from a memory key so that XP can find them?

You need a USB floppy drive. Borrow one or buy it and return it after you are done, and do not need it any more.

$20 usually , perhaps cheaper on the internet.
