asked on

redirection of IE favorites to server share

Is there a way to configure SBS 2003 to redirect the entire documents and settings folder the server similar to the "MyDocument Redirection" feature?
I just lost the IE Favorites on a workstation when I reloaded the OS. I forgot that neither Exchange or MyDocument Redirection keeps a record of Favorites stored in the Documents & Settings folder.
TIA.

Is there a way to change the location that IE expects the Favorites folder to be? I could move the Favorites folder to the User share.

you might be able to modify the registry to do it. it is located under HKEY CURRENT USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\User Shell Folders, and you just need to edit the value of Favorites
thanks, I think I can set up a logon and log off script in GPO to copy the favorites back and forth from the user share.
