I have encountered installation issues when installing exchange 2003 x32 on 2003 x32 guest while host running 2003 x64

We are migrating to Exchange 2003 and want to rebuild the existing Exchange 2000 Server. As a migration strategy I want to install Exchange 2003 on a guest Windows 2003 x32 server running Windows 2003 x64 as the host using windows Virtual Server 2005 R2.

I have installed the guest o/s began the Exchange 2003 installation have successfully change the Schema and prepared the Domain but when installing the Echange server itself am prompted with a dialogue box stating an issue with the installation. On further investigation it appear there is a compatibility issue as the installation picks up the x64 architecture of the host.

Is there a method for installation Exchange 2003 on a guest virtual server with x64 host and does Exchange run sucessfully.y.

If must ensure that your host has intel virtualization (Intel VT) available on the CPU and enabled in the BIOS to run 64 bit guests.  What type of hardware is your VS2005 server installed on?
